Synopsis: A Franco Zeffirelli version of the Bronte classic. Jane Eyre is a poor orphan who grows up to become governess at Thornfield Hall, the home of the enigmatic Mr Rochester. Although Rochester is initially gruff and dismissive towards Jane, a warmth develops between them. But who is the woman in the attic who laughs maniacally, stabs guests and sets fire to Rochester's bedroom? And will she prove a barrier to Rochester and Jane's wedding plans?
