Austrian filmmaker Jessica Hausner directs this drama set in the town of Lourdes, the Christian pilgrimage site in the French Pyrenees. Sylvie Testud stars as Christine, a solitary and not-particularly-pious wheelchair user suffering from multiple sclerosis who travels to Lourdes with a group of fellow pilgrims. During her stay in the town, Christine undergoes various apparently miraculous adjustments, and throws herself into the challenge of overcoming her physical disabilities.
