Cohan, the composer, singer and dancer, who achieved the status of a genuine vaudeville star while still a child, then went on to compose and perform some of the most famous songs of the century, eventually being awared with a special medal from the President for his efforts. James Cagney received an Oscar for portrayal of Cohan and has since named this as his favourite film. Includes the songs 'Give My Regards to Broadway', 'I Was Born in Virginia' and 'Yankee Doodle Dandy'.
