Vanessa Redgrave stars at the female protagonist in this 1970s British drama. Born and raised in New Zealand, Katherine Mansfield fled her native land while still in her teens with her sights set on London, England. As she began to record her sexual experiences - with both men and women - in detailed diary entries, Katherine married John Middleton-Murry (Jeremy Brett) and attempted, at the insistance of her mother, to live a seemingly normal life. Katherine, however, was far from conventional in her lifestyle choices. The cast also includes Annette Crosbie and Phyllida Law.
