Synopsis

Basil Dearden directs this 1960s kitchen sink drama set in London's Bethnal Green. The Flint family are struggling to keep their heads above water, especially when dad Matt (Bernard Lee) loses his job at the docks and decides to make a living as an escapologist instead. Meanwhile son Ricky (Michael Sarne), dissatisfied with his dead-end factory job, becomes tempted by gangland life. Rita Tushingham co-stars as Ricky's love interest, Catherine.
