A Poem Is A Naked Person Film Poster

Synopsis

Documentary about American singer-songwriter Leon Russell. Remaining unreleased for over 40 years due to creative differences, the documentary chronicles the time film-maker Les Blank spent with the musician between 1972 and '74 at the artist's home recording studio in Grand Lake, Oklahoma. Blank captures Russell at work on his country album 'Hank Wilson's Back' while musicians including Willie Nelson, Eric Andersen and George Jones pay visits to the studio. The film also sees Russell perform live at the height of his career and contains footage of the Oklahoma landscape as well as interviews with some of the locals.
