Synopsis

A hard-hitting Hindi drama following a Sikh family in the aftermath of the assassination of Indira Gandhi. On October 31, 1984, the world is shaken when Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi is shot dead by her own Sikh bodyguards. But for Davinder Singh (Vir Das) and his family, the nightmare is just beginning. As mobs take to the streets bent on vengeance, ordinary Sikhs find themselves in the firing line. Based on a true story, this edge of seat thriller explores one of the darkest days in modern India's history through the eyes of an ordinary family caught up in the violence. Written and produced by Harry Sachdeva, it boasts the distinction of being the first Bollywood film to depict the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Comedian Vir Das demonstrates his versatility with a powerful dramatic performance in the lead role. He's ably supported by Soha Ali Khan, who won several awards for her performance in 'Rang De Basanti'.
