Photojournalist Rebecca (Juliette Binoche) is addicted to working in war zones. But when she's nearly killed in Afghanistan, her husband (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) gives her an ultimatum: her work or her family. Rebecca makes her choice, though still heads to Africa with her teenage daughter (Lauren Canny) to document humanitarian aid in action. Despite her promise to stay in a 'safe' camp, her desire to get to the heart of the action puts them both in mortal danger. Binoche excels in an admirably even-handed drama, based on director Poppe's own experiences.
