After the Apocalypse Film Poster

Antony Butts directs this unflinching documentary exploring the aftermath of Soviet nuclear testing in rural Kazakhstan. In and around the remote community of Semipalatinsk, birth defects and deformities are commonplace in the wake of a secret 40-year nuclear testing programme carried out by the Soviet Union from 1949. This harrowing film looks at the physical and emotional effects the testing programme has had on members of the local community.

Contains strong language and real images of birth defects
