Double bill of modern comedy. 'American Dreamz' (2006) is a satirical comedy starring Hugh Grant. To US President Staton (Dennis Quaid), the world is a fairly black-and-white place, but a glance at the daily headlines on the eve of his re-election leaves him shaken to the very core. With concern about the President's mental health soon taking precedence over all other issues in the White House, his nervous Chief of Staff (Willem Dafoe) attempts to get the Commander in Chief back in the public eye by booking him as a guest judge on television's top-rated talent show, 'American Dreamz', hosted by self-loathing celebrity Martin Tweed (Hugh Grant). As show hopefuls Sally (Mandy Moore) and Omer (Sam Golzari) progress to the final round and the President takes his seat on the panel, an unexpected revelation about one finalist promises to make this season finale a real ratings grabber. 'Intolerable Cruelty' (2003) is another offering from the highly acclaimed Cohen brothers featuring George Clooney as Miles Massey. Massey is a divorce lawyer who always wins his case until he comes head to head with the scheming, money-grabbing, yet alluring, Mrs Marilyn Rexroth (Catherine Zeta-Jones). Miles and Marilyn each embark on their own ruthless romantic missions to outdo one another and amass great wealth. Sparks fly in this battle-of-the-sexes comedy.
