Contemporary retelling of Shakespeare's 'Julius Caesar'. Julian Caesar (John Longden) is the chairman of Empire Petroleum. When the company announces its intention to merge with Pompeii Shipping Line, one of its directors, R Cassius (Douglas Wilmer), organises a secret meeting to denounce Caesar and demand his resignation. After much badgering he manages to convince the one honest director remaining on the board, Brutus Smith (Norman Wooland), to vote against Caesar, with tragic consequences.
