Box set containing two popular thriller movies. 'Assault on Precinct 13' (2005) is an action-packed remake of the John Carpenter classic. On New Year's Eve, inside an under-manned Detroit police station that's about to be closed for good, officer Jake Roenick (Ethan Hawke) must bring together cops and criminals to save themselves from a group of rogue cops intent on killing mobster Marion Bishop (Laurence Fishburne). In 'Desperate Measures' (1998), Police detective Frank Connor (Andy Garcia) is desperate to find a bone marrow donor in order to save the life of his son, Matt (Joseph Cross), who has leukemia. The only match Connor can find, however, is violent convicted criminal Peter McCabe (Michael Keaton). McCabe initially refuses to co-operate, but seemingly changes his mind after meeting Matt. Connor's hopes are shattered when McCabe stages an escape while being transported to hospital. Connor must now prevent his superiors from killing McCabe while also trying to bring him to justice.
