Christopher Doyle directs this drama about Asano (Tadanobu Asano), a man with mnemonic memory; for him, words have tangible shapes, tastes, smells and colours, and can never be forgotten once he has heard them. Travelling to Hong Kong, he meets flamboyant bar owner Kevin (Kevin Sherlock), a man whose colourful past has been lost in a drink-fuddled haze, and who cannot even remember the Cantonese name of the street where he lives. As the relationship between these two very different men unfolds, it becomes clear that words only seem to stand in the way of their future together.
