Synopsis

London, 1994. With the Bosnian conflict at its height and England about to play Holland in a World Cup qualifier, the lives of various people intersect in London. Refugee Pero (Edin Dzandzanovic) arrives in hospital after being run over, where he meets and falls in love with Portia (Charlotte Coleman), a doctor and daughter of Conservative MP George (Charles Kay). Also working on the ward is Doctor Mouldy (Nicholas Farrell), whose wife is in the process of leaving him and taking their two sons with her. Other patients include a Serb and Croat who injured each other whilst fighting on a bus, and a pregnant Bosnian woman who wants an abortion. Meanwhile, headmaster's son Griffin Midge heads for the match in Amsterdam, determined to make trouble, while BBC reporter Jerry departs for Bosnia to cover the conflict.
