Mathew Baynton stars as William 'Bill' Shakespeare in this drama written by Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond. Set during the early years of Shakespeare's life, the story follows his journey from being an unknown lute player from Stratford-upon-Avon to becoming a renowned playwright in London. As the struggling musician leaves his family and friends behind to travel to the big city, he hopes that his dreams of finding his true calling will finally become a reality. The cast also includes Martha Howe-Douglas as Anne Hathaway, Helen McCrory as Queen Elizabeth I and Damian Lewis as Sir Richard Hawkins.
