Synopsis

Documentary about the origins of modern yoga. The film takes a look at the life and work of Indian savant Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, who created fundamental elements of modern-day yoga practise. Director Jan Schmidt-Garre meets those who knew Krishnamacharya, including both relatives and students, and learns some poses along the way such as the 'Sun Salutation' and the 'King of Asanas'. He also visits the palace where the yoga master established a school at the request of the Maharaja of Mysore.
