Prison-set drama by Korean director Kim Ki-Duk. When death row convict Jang Jin (Chang Chen) tries to kill himself by stabbing himself in the neck with a sharpened toothbrush, his suicide attempt fails. However, the incident is picked up by the national news, where it catches the attention of middle class housewife Yeon (Park Ji Ah). Although Yeon's life appears idyllic on the surface, her husband (Ha Jung Woo) is having an affair and she is lonely and directionless. Moved by Jang Jin's story, Yeon impulsively decides to go and meet him in prison, where a tentative relationship develops between the two.
