Warren Beatty's political satire features its writer-director-star as Jay Bulworth, a disillusioned senator who has taken out a contract on his own life so that his family can benefit from the insurance pay-out. However, in the days before his scheduled death, the career politician feels an irresistible urge to overthrow convention and tell the country exactly how their affairs are being run. Suddenly cast as a people's champion, Bulworth begins enjoying his new role, and when he falls in love with inner city activist Nina (Halle Berry), he decides to give himself a stay of execution. The only trouble now is how to get the message to the hired killer.

Passed '18 ' for drug use, frequent coarse language and sex references.
