Synopsis

Cult horror produced by the legendary Roger Corman. Travelling by coach through rural France, author Bram Stoker (Kevin Alber) and his father (Eduard Plaxin) are accosted by a gang of hooded outlaws. After killing one of perpetrators, Bram is kidnapped and taken prisoner only to discover his captors are actually members of a coven intent on punishing men in the name of oppressed women. Adding deadly power to their cause, the cult is able to control a horde of human flesh-eating rats, thanks to the flute-playing abilities of their Queen (Adrienne Barbeau). The Queen soon sees some value in her intended victim, believing a writer as accomplished as Stoker could spread further terror in the hearts of men and instigate sympathy for their cause by documenting the cult's activities. Stoker then has to make a very difficult decision regarding his future.
