Biopic about Malayalam film-maker J.C. Daniel. The movie follows Daniel (Prithviraj)'s journey to make his first film 'Vigathakumaran' (1928), which was also the first ever feature made in Kerala. He gathers equipment, collects funds and hires actress Rosie (Chandni) to perform the female lead. He finally realises his dream but, on its release, the film causes outrage among members of society who still consider women acting as comparable to prostitution. Rosie is forced to flee town and Daniel, who is now in debt, must leave his film career behind and find an alternative way to make a living.
