Martial arts action triple-bill. In 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' (2000), Yu Shu Lien (Michelle Yeoh) has been charged with bringing the Green Destiny, a legendary antique sword, to its new owner in the capital. But the sword is stolen by a mysterious black-clad thief whose martial arts expertise outshines even that of Shu Lien herself. Li Mu Bai (Chow Yun Fat) soon arrives to help search for the sword, and his suspicions are aroused when he realises that his old enemy Jade Fox (Cheng Pei-Pei) is nearby. 'Warriors of Heaven and Earth' (2003) is a martial arts epic set in the ferocious heat of the Gobi desert, starring Jiang Wen and Kiichi Nakai as Lieutenant Li and Japanese emissary Lai Xi, both first-class warriors and master swordsmen. After decades of service to the Chinese Emperor, Lai Xi (Nakai) longs to return to Japan, but is instead sent out West to chase wanted criminals. His only passport home is to capture and execute Lieutenant Li (Wen), a renegade soldier wanted for leading a violent mutiny in which he refused orders to kill women and children prisoners. When a caravan transporting a Buddhist monk and valuable treasure comes under threat, the two warriors must unite to protect the travellers before they can finally face each other. Finally, in 'Legend of the Red Dragon' (1994), after seeing his wife murdered and whole village razed by evil Manchu soldiers, Kwun (Jet Li) sets out with his son to get revenge. For years they strive to track down the killers whilst avoiding falling into the clutches of the Manchu army. A chance crossing paths with a group of Shaolin monks searching for buried treasure guarantees that the Manchu army can't be far behind. But can Kwun take on the killers all alone after all this time?
