All four series of the television drama about the bitter rivalries, professional and personal, between the workers of the Henshall-Ferraday hair salon in Manchester. In series one, Allie Henshall (Sarah Parish) and husband Gavin (Jason Merrells) own a successful hairdressing salon and Allie dreams of expansion. However, the site they had their eye on, across the road, is taken over by rival hairdresser Mia (Amanda Holden) and husband Finn (Ben Daniels). Finn, it transpires was Allie's first love and it seems that it was not a coincidence that he moved opposite her. Meanwhile there is a hairdressing championship to win. In series two, Allie returns to the salon with her new partner Finn, only to find that Gavin has been getting on fine without her and that she is not welcome back. In series three, Allie and Finn get secretly married, even though Allie knows Gavin is the father of her child, Gavin reveals that his parents aren't really dead, and Mia returns after being cleared of setting fire to the salon. In series four, with the smoke finally settled on Finn and Ruby's (Lucy Gaskell) dramatic departure, all eyes are on Allie and Gavin, who are happily back together - with big plans for the future. Not content with running the family salon, Allie sets her sights on opening a hairdressing academy for the next generation of Manchester super-stylists, with financial backing from an ex boy-band member Liam (James Murray). And when she discovers she might be pregnant, she thinks she can have it all - Gavin, the baby, her salon and the academy. But just as things are looking rosy, fate deals a shocking blow that threatens to change the Henshall-Ferraday partnership forever.
