Synopsis

Documentary about children learning to dance in a segregated society. Over a period of ten weeks, renowned ballroom dancer Pierre Dulaine returns to his home city of Jaffa, Israel, to fulfil a childhood dream to have Jewish and Palestinian children learn to dance together. He takes eleven-year-old youths from the divided communities into his programme 'Dancing Classrooms', where he strives to teach them social etiquette as well as dance. In order to work together the children must rise above the turmoil and tension of the world just outside the dance hall. But with hostility and politics never far away, will the young students be able to shatter their culture's prejudices and master the art of dance alongside their enemy?
