Synopsis

After returning home from a peaceful vacation to the Grand Canyon, two families, the Taylors and the Carters, discover a series of supernatural goings-on taking place in their home. Mysterious black handprints begin appearing on the walls in the midst of other seemingly supernatural goings on. As the malevolent force continues to feed off the fears and vulnerabilities of the two families, concerns begin to grow over the youngest child, Mikey (David Mazouz). Mikey has returned home from Arizona with some mysterious Native American stones that appear to have an eerie connection to the presence tormenting the family home. Director of cult classic, Wolf Creek (2005), Greg McLean helms this supernatural thriller that stars Kevin Bacon (Black Mass), Radha Mitchell (London Has Fallen), David Mazouz (Gotham), and Lucy Fry (Vampire Academy). McLean said that he based the film’s narrative on a true story he’d heard first hand many years earlier. From the horror film company, Blumhouse Productions, The Darkness will pack many jump scares and leave you with an eerie feeling – the hallmark of the studios other productions, including The Purge and Sinister.
