Synopsis

Screening as part of Liverpool's Trans* Day of Remembrance programme, Deconstructing Zoe is an exploration of gender, race and sexuality, seen through the life and times of transgender Chinese actor Zoe. “When I’m driving as a man, nobody notices me, everyone goes Chink, but when I’m Zoe people are honking me, winking at me, tailing me and she’s like voom, speeding down the West Way.” Director Rosa Fong will be introducing the film and taking questions afterwards. She is an award winning writer and director and was one of the creators of of Council House Movie Star for Homotopia's 2013 Festival. She is Senior Lecturer in Film & TV at Edgehill University.
