Synopsis

Ken Russell's groundbreaking TV documentary about the composer Edward Elgar. Made in 1962 for the BBC's 'Monitor' series, the film covers the young Elgar's rise from a relatively poor background to international success. Its major innovation was the use of actors to portray characters in a factual film.
