A selection of musical features starring rock 'n' roll icon Elvis Presley. 'Viva Las Vegas' (1963), Elvis's second film, is a celebration of the manifold charms of the gambling capital of America. Elvis plays a racing driver who finds that he can't keep his mind on the Las Vegas Grand Prix after he meets a sexy swimming instructor (Ann-Margret). Songs include 'The Lady Loves Me', 'C'mon Everybody', and 'Viva Las Vegas'. In 'Speedway' (1968), Elvis plays a racing driver who, in debt to the US government for $145,000, decides that the only way to pay his bill is to win the Charlotte 500 race. An extra incentive to win is provided by the IRS agent (Nancy Sinatra) recently arrived to collect the debt, with whom he falls in love. Songs include 'Let Yourself Go' and 'Western Union'. In 'Harum Scarum' (1965), Elvis stars as action movie star Johnny Tyronem, who is completing a goodwill tour in the Middle East when he is drugged and kidnapped by underground assassins. Having seen him in action in his films, they want to employ him to carry out the assassination of a desert king for them. Naturally, Johnny refuses, and after making a daring escape sets off across the desert in search of civilisation. En route he meets the beautiful Princess Shalimar (played by former Miss America Mary Ann Mobley) and finds time to perform a few hit songs including 'Hey Little Girl', 'Kismet', 'Mirage' and 'Harem Holiday'.
