Dramatisation of the life of the Ethiopian long distance runner, Haile Gebrselassie. Gebrselassie has won two Olympic gold medals, numerous marathons and broken over 27 world records over the course of a glittering career. His achievements are made all the more remarkable by his humble beginnings. The young Gebrselassie (played by Yonas Zergaw) was raised in relative poverty in Ethiopia. However, with the support of his mother (Shawananness Gebrselassie) and his father (Tedesse Haile) he was able to achieve his dream of representing his country in the Olympic Games. Gebrselassie and his wife, Alem Tellahun, play themselves as the film moves forward to cover the runner's career competing at the top end of world athletics.
