Erik the Viking Film Poster

Written by ex-Monty Python member Terry Jones and starring Tim Robbins as Erik, a viking who tires of the daily grind of sacking and looting. Gathering together a rag-tag band of squabbling warriors, Erik sets out on a journey to Valhalla where he intends to ask the gods to end the violence which consumes their age and usher in an era of peace. Not everyone shares Erik's dream and he encounters many obstacles along the way - most notably in the form of Halfdan the Black (John Cleese), a local warlord who enjoys all the fighting and wants things to carry on the same.
