Modern take on four classic fairy tales. An array of British talent combine in these BBC productions which aim to bring the classic tales bang up-to-date. In 'Rapunzel', a fading Eastern European tennis star is coerced into cross-dressing by his father and brother to help pay off family debts. In 'Cinderella', University cleaner Cindy Mellor (Maxine Peake) locks horns with arrogant professor Prince (James Nesbitt), when he proposes that men are the main force behind human evolution. In 'The Empress's New Clothes', Denise Van Outen stars as a woman whose obsession with high fashion leads to her downfall. Finally in 'Billy Goat', an up-and-coming boy band realise that the only thing that's stopping them from hitting the big time is their manager, a troll. Locked into a punishing contract, the boys realise they have to break free from their shackles.
