Recorded in July 2009 at the Glyndebourne festival, Jonathan Kent directs Henry Purcell's semi-opera after Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream set in a world of goblins, fairies and shepherds presided over by the god Hymen (Andrew Foster-Williams). William Christie conducts the period instruments of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment on the 350th anniversary of Purcell's birth.
