Based on real events, this space drama follows a group of scientists as they battle to save an unmanned spacecraft after it develops a potentially fatal problem. Launched in 2003 by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the unmanned spacecraft 'Hayabusa' is scheduled to collect samples from a near Earth asteroid named 25143 Itokawa and return them to Earth for analysis. But when the spacecraft develops technical problems on the return journey to Earth, scientists back at mission control must pull out all the stops to try and save the multi-million dollar mission from disaster.
