A collection of musical shorts originally made by Paramount in the 1920s and 1930s as fill-ins between the main features. 'A Lesson in Love' (1931) stars Helen Kane, while Mack Gordon, Harry Revel, Jack Oakie and Lyda Roberti appear in 'Hollywood Rhythm' (1934). Hoagy Carmichael and Jack Teagarden are the stars of the eponymous 'Hoagy Carmichael' (1939), while Ruth Etting's off-screen life forms the basis for 'Favourite Melodies' (1929). Rudy Vallee conducts his Connecticut Yankees in 'Radio Rhythm' (1929) and also appears with Mae Questel (voice of Betty Boop) in 'Musical Justice' (1931). Lillian Roth stars in 'Meet the Boyfriend' (1930), while 'I Surrender Dear' is an early testing vehicle for the young Bing Crosby.
