Given the task of publishing their latest issue in just three days, the American journalists go deep into Tokyo's black market in search of a story. When they come across a con artist known as Joe Butterfly (Burgess Meredith) who promises to show them how the rich and famous live in the exotic country, the Americans soon find themselves in over their heads living the high life in a Japanese mansion with an endless supply of beautiful women.
