Comedy about a father and daughter on a hunt for buried treasure. After spending several years in a mental institution, Charlie (Michael Douglas) is sent home to his 16-year old daughter Miranda (Evan Rachel Wood). Since being abandoned by her mother, Miranda has managed to survive by quitting school and taking a job in a burger bar. When her father is released and sent back to their home, Miranda finds her relatively calm world turned upside down. Charlie is convinced that the long-lost treasure of Spanish explorer Father Juan Florismarte Garces is buried somewhere beneath the local Costco store, and encourages the initially skeptical Miranda to get a job there so that they can devise a way to do some after-hours excavation work. Miranda goes along with the questionable plan in the hope of helping her dad realise his outlandish dream.
