Godfrey Reggio directs this cult experimental documentary that examines modern living. Featuring a score by Philip Glass, the film uses slow motion and time-lapse footage of US cities and natural landscapes to depict the frenetic sense of modern living and humanity's effect on the environment. The sites filmed include Horseshoe Canyon in Utah, the launch of the Saturn V rocket, Glen Canyon, the Pruitt-Igoe housing project in St. Louis and the skyscrapers of New York City.
