Synopsis

Psychological drama set against a backdrop of political upheaval and intrigue. Directed by French New Wave director Alain Cavalier, and co-written by 'Cyrano de Bergerac' scriptwriter Jean-Paul Rappeneau, the film stars Jean-Louis Trintignant as Clement, an affluent right-wing activist married to aspiring actress Anne (Romy Schneider). When Clement is betrayed by a comrade, he and Anne seek refuge in the home his friend Paul (Henri Serre), and Clement determines to find the man who betrayed him and wreak his revenge. But complications arise when Anne admits to having feelings for Paul...
