L'Enfance Nue Film Poster

Produced by Francois Truffaut, this raw and unflinching portrait of a troubled childhood by acclaimed French filmmaker Maurice Pialat is widely considered to be semi-autobiographical. Ten-year-old Francois (Michel Tarrazon) is a provincial orphan whose violent and destructive behaviour leads to his being passed from one foster family to another. The account of his turbulent and unmoored existence offers an insightful critique not only of the dysfunction that lies at the core of the young boy's life, but also of the hypocrisy of society as a whole.
