Four years after heroin almost wrecked her life, 32-year-old video store manager Tracy Heart is completely clean but still wrestling with the demons of her past. Her poor credit history prevents her from ever borrowing money and her mother watches over her with an eagle eye, fearful she may one day slip back into bad habits. The trouble begins when Tracy's dealer ex-boyfriend Jonny returns to Sydney to work as a stockbroker in one of the city's banks. Against her better judgement, and the warnings of her mother and brother Ray, Tracy gravitates towards Jonny.
