Marie - A True Story Film Poster

Drama based on the true story of Marie Ragghianti, a Tennessee housewife stuck in a violent marriage and caring for a child with long-term health problems. Sissy Spacek plays the courageous Marie, who, determined to turn her life around, leaves her abusive husband and puts herself through college. Having completed her degree, she lands a job with the Tennessee State Goverment and rises through the ranks to become head of the State Parole Board. Here she uncovers insidious and far-reaching corruption involving many powerful and high-profile public figures. With the same courage and determination she showed at the outset of her career, she sets out to blow the whistle on the wrongdoers and bring them to justice.
