French-Algerian comedy starring, as well as written and directed by, Lyes Salem. Salem stars as Mounir Mekbek: an irritable man who lives in an Algerian village with his narcoleptic sister Rym (Sarah Reguieg). Taunted by his fellow villagers for having an unmarried sister with a strange condition, Mekbek becomes desperate for acceptance. Meanwhile his sister, unbeknown to Mekbek, is having an affair with his best friend. In order to keep her antics secret, Rym claims to have had a proposal from a wealthy outsider which Mekbek realises is phoney. However, his determination to gain status in the village spurs him to go along with it. But soon enough the lies begin to snowball and it is not long before the situation gets out of control.
