A lounge singer gets to sing some killer songs when he takes up his residency at a new nightclub in this mob-comedy from director Larry Blamire. Down-on-his-luck singer Johnny Slade (John Fiore) finally thinks things are on the up when he gets the job at a club run by a local crime family. Asked to sing an awful new song each night by his boss, Johnny eventually soon twigs something's wrong when his lyrics begin turning up in the next day's crime stories. Suddenly realising he's being employed by a crime-boss-in-hiding to pass on orders to his underlings by song, Johnny knows he's got to find a way out, but when your employers are the mob, having your contract terminated takes on a whole new meaning.
