Murder in the First Film Poster

Kevin Bacon plays a prisoner who tries unsuccessfully to escape from Alcatraz and as a result is put in a six by nine foot cell with no light or heating. He is left there with no clothes and little food for three years and is subjected to a series of beatings by the prison warden (Gary Oldman). When he is finally released, he is a dazed, confused and terrorised man and, in a frenzied act of revenge, he kills a fellow prisoner. Public Defender Christian Slater believes that there is something that needs to be done in order to expose the ruthless regime of Alcatraz, even if it means risking his and his client's lives.
