Synopsis

Adaptation of Gore Vidal's satirical sex-change novel, starring Raquel Welch. Shy Myron Breckinridge (Rex Reed) decides to go to Europe to get a sex change, where he meets a disreputable doctor who transforms him into the glamorous Myra (Welch). Travelling back to the USA, Myra passes herself off as Myron's widow and demands her share of the inheritance from her uncle Buck Loner (John Huston). Buck is suspicious of her story but lets her work in his acting school as a coach, where she meets naive young couple Rusty Godowsky (Roger Herren) and Mary Anne Pringle (Farrah Fawcett). Myra then takes it upon herself to expand the pair's sexual horizons, hoping in the process to instigate a sexual revolution.
