James Franco, Chris O'Dowd and Leighton Meester star in this live Broadway production adapted for the stage by John Steinbeck from his own novella. Franco and O'Dowd play George Milton and Lennie Small, two friends who dream of some day settling down on their own land. Lennie is mentally disabled but has great physical strength which he has difficulty controlling. He loves touching soft things such as animals but often ends up accidentally killing them. When the pair go to work on a ranch and Lennie's interaction with their boss's son's wife (Meester) results in tragedy, George has to take drastic measures out of love for his friend.
