Set in the town of Lochristi in present-day Belgium, the debut feature from writer-director Lieven Debrauwer tells the story of the relationship between two elderly sisters. Pauline (Dora van der Groen) has the mental age of a young child and has been looked after for many years by her sister Martha (Julienne de Bruyn); but when Martha dies, Pauline's two other sisters, Cécile (Rosemarie Bergmans) and Paulette (Ann Petersen), must decide how best to care for her. Neither is keen to assume responsibility, but when a clause in Martha's will stipulates that they will only receive their inheritance if one of them cares for Pauline personally, Paulette decides to move in, with hilarious and touching results.
