Grímur Hákonarson writes and directs this brotherly drama set in a remote valley in Iceland. Brothers Gummi (Sigurður Sigurjónsson) and Kiddi (Theodór Júlíusson) live in close proximity tending to their prized flocks which carry an ancient lineage. Despite sharing land and a shepherd lifestyle, Gummi and Kiddi have not spoken in 40 years. When Kiddi's flock suddenly becomes infected with a serious disease, the authorities take the decision to cull all the animals in the area. As the local authorities draw nearer the brothers must find a way to work together to protect their sheep breed.
