First volume of episodes from the 1990s ITV drama series about a Church of England bishop and his unruly family. Edward Rattigan (Paul Shelley) and his wife, Jessica (Judy Loe), enjoy a high standing in the church and community, but the sheen of respectability masks a troubled underbelly. The problems of the couple find expression through their children. Gabriel (Stephen Mapes) is both homosexual and a methadone addict, issues his parents are more interested in covering up than resolving, while their daughter, Charlie (Emma Roberts), is unhealthily promiscuous. When Rachel (Lucy Robinson) enters the family via marriage to Gabriel, she is stunned to discover the truth underlying the facade, but has she yet seen the depths of the family's depravity?
