‘Giselle’, a peasant girl, falls in love with Count Albrecht, but kills herself in heartbreak after discovering that he is betrothed to marry another woman. A distraught Albrecht wanders the forests, and discovers that Giselle has become one of the Wilis, spirits of women who died before their wedding day and now dance men to death. Giselle desperately tries to convince the other Wilis to spare him. The quintessential Romantic ballet, Peter Wright’s production of ‘Giselle’ is based on Marius Petipa’s classic version, first performed in St. Petersburg in 1884. This is an Encore performance of the live show from the 6th of April 2016.
