Box set starring Basil Rathbone as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's super-sleuth. In 'Prelude to a Murder' (aka 'Dressed to Kill'), when two people are killed after purchasing identical music boxes from an auction house, one of them being a friend of Watson, the duo begin their investigation. One clue that they do have is that they are after a woman. In 'The Secret Weapon' Holmes is out to prevent Moriarty from stealing the Allies' new bomb during World War II. In 'Woman in Green' a series of gruesome murders takes place in London in which the little finger of every victim is cut off. The murders all lead back to a beautiful but deadly woman who lures unsuspecting men to their death. Scotland Yard are unable to solve the crimes and so send for Sherlock Holmes who finds out that his rival Professor Moriarty is the mastermind behind the slayings. Finally, in 'Terror By Night' Holmes and Watson have the task of protecting a jewel, the Star of Rhodesia, as they travel to Edinburgh from London. Nevertheless, the jewel is lost and a railway guard murdered.
